Kothamalli thogayal is a simple dish made using coriander leaves, red chillies, tamarind, mustard seeds and ured dhal. These are first roasted in a teaspoon of oil and ground to a fine and thick paste.
Cucumber chutney is a healthy chutney which can be made very easily. It goes well with rice, idly or dosa. This a Mangalore recipe. This chutney can also be made using English cucumbers. If you want you can add grated coconut while grinding the chutney.
Today I am sharing a thogayal recipe which is made from ridge gourd peel. We can make this with simple ingredients. We usually peel the peerkangai and make peerkangai kadyal or make some other dish. Peels are fibre rich and have nutritive value.
We use banana flower for making Banana Flower Paruppu usili, Banana Flower Vadai, etc. But I have used banana flower to make tasty chutney or thuvaiyal which goes well with steamed rice, dosa or idlies.
