Ingredients
For The Marination:
- Baby Corn – 200 grams slit into two and then cut into half
- Corn Flour – 2 tbsp.
- All Purpose Flour – 1 tbsp.
- Ginger Garlic Paste – 1 tsp.
- Red Chilli Powder – 1 tsp.
- Salt – ½ tsp.
- Water – as needed for mixing
For The Sauce:
- Oil – 1 tbsp.
- Ginger Garlic Paste – 1 tsp.
- Onion – 1 chopped finely
- Green Chillies – 2 chopped finely
- Tomato Ketchup – ¼ cup
- Soy Sauce – 1 tbsp.
- Corn Flour – 1 tbsp.
- Red Chilli Sauce – 1 tbsp.
- Salt – ½ tsp.
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine all the marination ingredients - corn flour, all-purpose flour, ginger garlic paste, red chili powder and salt. Add enough water to make a thick batter-like consisten-cy.
- Add the baby corn pieces into the marination mixture and coat them well. Let it marinate for about 15-20 minutes.
- Preheat your air fryer to 180°C (356°F) for 5 minutes.
- Once the baby corn is marinated, place the coated baby corn pieces in the air fryer basket in a single layer, leaving some space between them. You may need to cook them in batches de-pending on the size of your air fryer.
- Air fry the baby corn for 12-15 minutes, flipping them halfway through the cooking time, until they are golden brown and crispy.
- While the baby corn is cooking, prepare the sauce. Heat oil in a pan on medium heat. Add gin-ger garlic paste and sauté for a minute until fragrant.
- Add diced onions to the pan and sauté for 2-3 minutes until they are slightly softened.
- Add tomato ketchup, soy sauce, red chili sauce and salt to the pan. Stir well to combine all the ingredients and let the sauce simmer for a minute or two.
- In a cup mix cornflour and 1/2 cup of water without forming lumps.
- Add this to the pan and mix well in low flame very quickly.
- Once the baby corn is done in the air fryer, add them to the sauce in the pan and toss them well, coating them evenly with the sauce.
- Serve hot as a delicious and crispy appetizer or snack!
