Pearl Millet / Bajra Vada
As rainy season has started, I thought of making vada using bajra flour. This is a simple vada which we can make very easily. Bajra is very healthy. This is a good tea time snack.

Ingredients
- Bajra Flour – 1 cup
- Wheat Flour – ½ cup
- Curd – ¼ cup
- Salt – as needed
- Ginger – 1 inch piece
- Green Chilli – 1
- Turmeric Powder – ¼ tsp.
- Coriander Leaves – a handful chopped finely
- Red Chilli Powder – ½ tssp.
- Cumin Powder – ½ tsp.
- Dhania Powder – ½ tsp.
- Oil – 1 tbsp.
- Water – for mixing the dough
- Oil – for deep frying
Instructions
- Grind ginger and green chilli into a coarse paste.
- In a large mixing bowl, take bajra flour, wheat flour, ginger green chilli paste, salt, curd, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, dhania powder, cumin powder and coriander leaves and mix well.
- Add 1 tablespoon of oil and mix well.
- Slowly add water and mix to a smooth and thick dough.
- Heat oil in a pan.
- Take a small ball form the dough and flatten it.
- Slowly drop into the hot oil and fry the vadas till golden on both sides. Turn it over and cook.
- Serve hot with coconut chutney or tomato chutney.
