It was one of those evenings where we as a family had a tiring and long day. It was evening and we were all craving a good sit down and eat session. The usual custom is to send someone out to order and take away. This time, we didn’t have the energy for that too. We were thinking of what to do, our condition was that the food had to packed hygienically and in a way that it doesn’t get tampered with in transit and that it tastes like it was made at home. We were casually browsing and stumbled upon WokNTava. The service was interesting and unlike the usual run-of-the-mill stuff that we see off late.
So we all got together and ordered what we wanted. The first surprise was the practical pricing. We got what we wanted without burning a hole in the wallet. As soon as the order was placed, we got a confirmation message and a clear indication of when we will get the food. So all of us relaxed and waited for it to arrive.
The delivery guy was very courteous, when he got into gnarly traffic, he immediately called us and told us about it and set our expectations right. When he arrived, he explained why he was late and apologized for the delay. This is the first time that I am seeing this happen in any food delivery service in Bangalore in a decade.
So then, we sat down and made a list of stuff we ordered, Here it is – Burnt garlic rice, Chinese bhel, Paneer tikka, Pudhina parantha, Plain parantha, Tai chin chicken, Chicken tikka masala.
The burnt garlic rice was a very interesting concept for me and I am finding it first time here. With the taste of burnt garlic and it was the first time I am tasting such a good recipe and I liked it very much. Chinese bhel was well prepared and my son liked it very much. Paneer tikka was very soft and the taste was awesome. The paranthas were well prepared and the taste of ghee lingered in my mouth.
The non-veg food was very well prepared. There wasn’t even a hint of oil saturation or overtly done frying or roasting, the meat texture and the structure of preparation was very evident. The Chicken just melted in one’s mouth and tasted like one was having a treat prepared for kings. Very elegantly and carefully prepared. The boneless dishes were very thoroughly prepared and cooked to a perfect level. No hint of acidity or any other issue post eating. The key point was that the portion sizes were perfect. No food was wasted and everyone was full. All in all, a brilliant experience
