If you are a foodie, Bangalore is a wonderful place to live in with lots of new cuisines and experiences that will never leave you bored. For Irish and English Cuisine, Blimey is the best place to visit. It is located at the corner of the 5th floor of 1 MG mall. As we enter, we can see the foosball table where kids were playing, interiors set with a wooden décor and glass walls from where we can see the spectacular view of Ulsoor Lake while having our food. The restaurant is divided into 2 levels, the Pub, styled with the old, and designed with the Modern, is on the 5th floor, while the terrace level, partially covered by a high roof and relaxed colors and furniture with a breath taking view of the city. The ambience is good with the billiards table in the middle and foosball table for the kids to play when the elders talk and enjoy. The service was good and the waiter was very friendly. The food was also served very fast. The food menu consists of mostly Irish food and also they have Italian and I even saw some Indian variety like Paneer Tikka Masala with Pilaf.
The food menu was uniquely shaped and enclosed in wood while the beverage menu is enclosed in a wooden bottle which looked attractive. As we got the menu, I went through the menu twice. From soups to deserts they have a rich variety of food. In the veg. starters, some of the items I saw was fried mushrooms, Irish veg. rolls, veg crostini, nachos, onion rings and in the non-veg. I saw Pub Wings Half Dozen, Peri Peri Chicken Popsicle, Nuttys Chicken Tart with Rocket Salad, Beef Meat Balls, Tiger Prawns with Aioli and much more. The soup menu consist of Spinach and Corn soup, Minestrone soup and Cream of Chicken soup. There were also variety of salads like Caesar Salad, Greek Salad and Chicken Mustard Apple salad. They also have choice of sandwiches, burgers, pizzas and pastas.
The Mushroom Lasagna we ordered in the main course was fully loaded with rich creamy mushroom and spinach and stuffed in sheets of lasagna and baked in a nice and good way. The taste was very nice and I felt full after having it. They have only thin crust pizzas and the Primavera Pizza we ordered was nicely cooked and tasted awesome. And finally we ordered some deserts Crème Brulee and Choco Marquise. Crème Brulee was soft and fluffy and tasted very good. The Choco Marquise was very rich with chocolate and we enjoyed having it well. With variety of starters, pizzas, pastas and cocktails and with the good ambience and with the service so good, the experience was really very good. When we came out we saw some kids playing foosball and enjoying their day at Blimey. As I came out I was longing to go there one more when time permits.
I loved the place very much.
