In Bangalore this is mochai kottai season. People here make a variety of dishes. They make dosas, kurmas, curries and many more. I like mochai a lot. I also buy and make a lot of dishes at home. One such dish is mochai curry.
Ingredients: |

Mochai Kottai (field beans) | – 1 cup |
Grated coconut | – 1 tbsp. |
Green chillies | – 2 (finely chopped) |
Turmeric powder | – ¼ tsp. |
Salt | – as needed or 1 tsp. |
For Seasoning: |
|
Oil | – 1 tsp. |
Mustard | – ½ tsp. |
Curry leaves | – a handful |
Method:
- Boil the beans in a pressure cooker with a salt and keep aside.
Heat oil in a pan and add the seasonigs. - Add chopped green chilies and saute for a few seconds.
Add the cooked mochai and cook well till the water gets absorbed. - Add the grated coconut and mix well.
- Mochai curry is ready.
Note:
- If you want you can add lime juice at the end after switching off the stove.
