Rasam powder is always available in my kitchen. My mother used to make very nice rasams using her own rasam powder and now I am following her reicipe. For this also use only round red chillies as it gives nice aroma to the rasam. Homemade powder is very flavourful and tasty. You can use this for all types of rasam except pepper rasam.
|Black pepper||– 1 cup|
|Cumin seeds||– 1 cup|
|Red chillies(Round)||– 2 cups|
|Dhania(coriander seeds)||– 4 cups|
|Toor dhal||– 2 cups|
|Turmeric powder||– ½ cup|
- Keep all the above ingredients in hot sun for 1 day or you can dry roast them in a pan and grind it in a mill or in a mixer.
- Open and keep the container till the powder cools.
- Store in airtight container.
