Today, I prepared my favourite garlic chutney. When I was studying in Trichy, every friday they used to give this along with idly in my hostel. It tastes so good. Recently I learnt this from one of my friends and immediately I made it at home. Now it became everyone’s favourite.
Garlic chutney serves as an excellent side dish with idli or dosa or can be used in sandwiches and on a simple toast. Garlic not only makes food hot and spicy, it aids in the healing and even prevention of certain medical conditions. It has more health benefits, such as treating allergies, diabetes, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, toothaches and warts. It has powerful health boosting effects on our body.

Notes
One of the great things about garlic chutney is that it can be customized to suit individual tastes. Here are some variations to consider:
• Peanut or Sesame Seed Garlic Chutney: In some regions of India, garlic chutney is made with roasted peanuts or sesame seeds for a nutty flavor and a thicker consistency. This variation is particularly popular in the state of Gujarat.
• Tangy Garlic Chutney: To add a tangy flavor to garlic chutney, some people add tamarind paste or lemon juice to the mixture. This variation pairs well with dishes that have a sour component, such as chaat.
• Creamy Garlic Chutney: To add a creamy texture to garlic chutney, grated coconut can be added to the mixture. This variation is particularly popular in the southern state of Kerala.
• Aromatic Garlic Chutney: To add a fresh aroma to garlic chutney, some people add dried curry leaves or coriander leaves to the mixture. This variation is particularly popular in the southern state of Tamil Nadu.
